Laura & Simon’s Wedding at The Bridge Hotel & Spa Wetherby
A dour overcast day was never going to sour the the excitement and mood of the Laura, Simon and their guests! There was enthusiasm in abundance, smiles everywhere and people travelling from miles around to come and celebrate this couples union. It all started with a fantastic morning of bride preparation, some questionable music choices, and non stop laughter. A short and sweet ceremony left maximum time for everyone to indulge in a little champagne, and despite the best efforts of mother nature, the party mood continued throughout.
As always it’s a pleasure to photograph every wedding but it’s even more enjoyable when they are as fun and vibrant in mood as Laura and Simon’s. On a personal note I have to say I am devastated to have missed the comedy moment of the day with the father of the groom juggling his dinner .. unsuccessfully. Disaster was averted with no one in the immediate vicinity being hit by flying food! You’ve been framed would have appreciated that on video and it certainly added to the excitement. It was also for me my first wedding in some time .. with the birth of our baby last year and the serious surgery she needed I have had to take a somewhat extended absence of leave from the art of wedding photography. It felt good to have that rush of excitement back within the veins though.
The party continued late into the night and I there may have been a few slightly party weary people the next morning. Either way it was a fantastic even and a massive congratulations to the happy couple. We would obviously like to wish them all the best for the future.
